Where It All Started
Every good story has someone who hands down more than just a skill — they hand down a way of doing things. For Robert Cosper, that someone was his uncle, Royce Cosper, who put a brush in Robert's hand while he was still a kid and taught him the trade from the ground up. By the time Robert was eighteen, he was already running his own crews.
As the years went on, Robert's skill took him further than a paintbrush alone. He branched out into painting and drywall, and before long he was being trusted by major companies to run crews of up to fifty men at a time. But East Texas was always home, and Robert eventually came back to the Longview area to do the work he loved most — painting custom homes, one family at a time.
We believe the Lord puts the right people in your path at the right time, and we're grateful that Royce was put in Robert's — because everything Cosper Painting is today traces back to that lesson.
Carrying It Forward
Remington grew up the same way his dad did — with a brush in his hand. Starting at just twelve years old, he spent his summers learning the trade from Robert, soaking up every detail most people never even notice: the prep work, the patience, the pride in a clean line.
After graduating high school, Remington spent some time in college, but painting never let go of him. He brought what he'd learned back to the family business, running his own crews while he was still young and holding himself to the same standard his dad and great-uncle Royce had set before him — close attention to detail, and a customer's satisfaction above all else.
In 2021, Remington took the reins of the company his father built and rebranded it as Cosper Painting, sharpening the focus on residential painting, commercial painting, and residential repaints — while keeping everything that made it special exactly the same. Today, at thirty-seven, he still calls the Longview area home with his own family, leading the same crew with the same heart.

And don't be surprised if you spot Robert — "Bobby" to the folks who know him — out on a job site every now and then. He's retired, but it doesn't always stick. When he gets bored, he still shows up to show the young bucks a trick or two.
